Have it evaluated: Did you injure the hand or did the swelling  and bruising occur without trauma?  If any event, you need to have the hand evaluated.

Overuse: Sounds like overuse or transient inflammation. Rest, Ice, and Tylenol (acetaminophen)  should help. Seek medical attention if much better in 4-6 hours. Hope you feel better

i always wake up with swollen fingers nd my arms and hand feel heavy nd with a bit of pain what can be causing this ? can this be a due to my anxiaty

NOT anxiety: Painful swollen fingers may be due to some form of 'auto-immune' arthritis. Simple blood tests (sed rate/crp) can quickly test for inflammation and confirmatory testing (ccp, ra, ana)  may be neeed. I would get seen by primary care doctor. For now you can take nsaids (i suggest Aleve (naproxen) 2 in am, 2pm). Anxiety should not cause edema per se. Hope you are better soon!

had impact on my right hand around easter and have had periodic pain in "snuff box" area and swollen fingers . i can still use my hand. is a bone brok?

Pain in snuffbox: When you say impact, do you mean you fell on an out-stretched hand?  Or impact like a direct blow? If you fell , yes you could have a broken bone. That is less likely with a direct blow but it is important that you get this wrist and hand xrayed.

had a nasty fall. have swollen fingers & knuckles and pain in right hand getting worse. had to remove a ring as it got stuck on swollen finger. should i attend the hospital a&e department?

: Yes, you should go to the hospital emergency department today. Having hand and finger swollen so much that you can’t wear your ring is a sign of serious injury or infection.

Unlikely: Most likely  some type of nerve compression either in the arm or neck. Could be early signs of arthritis. See your PCP.

Reevaluate: If the fingers got more swollen and the symptoms worsen after the cast was placed, you should be reevaluated to rule out too much compression from the cast.

i am six weeks with cast for my wrist fracture just the past few days my fingers are swollen should i be concerned?

Your cast may be: too tight and therefore constricting blood flow in and out of your hand.  I would call your orthopedic or emergency room doctor and have them revise the cast ASAP. You have arthritis!: With so many joints involved you must have one of many types of arthritis! You need a workup from a rheumatologist. Simply treating pain is never the answer. If you have inflammation, it must be suppressed. Inflammation with damage joints, but lead to earlier artherosclerosis!
