Topical steroid: Try otc Hydrocortisone cream.  However if the swelling is severe enough, your doctor may need to try you on a short course of oral cortisone as well. Avoidance will be the key in the future.

Steroid Side effect: It can take up to several months(3-6) for your symptoms and swelling of your face to subside

Allergies: She must have allergies!  Over a 30 day period montelukast (singulair) inhibits "leukotrienes" which are chemicals active in the allergic process.   As you stop taking the meds, it sounds like her allergies flared.  Now I wouldn't say going off the med for one day would be a reason for them to flare.  But if you missed it for a week and her allergies flared, that would make sense.

year ago, i had left upper molar tooth  extracted. since then i have noticed fullness/slight swelling of face there? dentist said cheek pushes inward?

Needs to be seen: I'm sorry, but we would have to clinically examine you in order to give you some insight as to why you see and feel what you do, as well as whether or not it was related to the extracted molar. With missing teeth, there can be loss of bone and support for the cheek.

Stop those meds: if you believe they are the cause of your symptoms, take a antihistamine and see your doctor, go to ER or urgent care, good luck

i have had allergic reactions to sulfa (stevens-johnson syndrome) and nsaids (swelling of face lips, and tongue).  can i safely take meloxicam for oa?

Likely ok: Reaction to NSAIDs other than asthma, nasal congestion , sinusitis is considered specific to that drug. Sulfa has nothing to do with meloxicam. Thus it is likely safe for you to take Meloxicam but try to stay at 7.5 mg per day.

throat feels very tight. mild swelling of face/hands. hr, sats, bp are fine. possible mast cell disease. can't be anaphylaxis w/ normal vitals, right?

Need to be seen: May need some blood work and a detailed history and exam. Allergy season may bring on or trigger such events too.

Thyroid Disease: Possible low thyroid could cause this.  Also too much salt intake.  Lasix (furosemide) as a rule only helps fluid accumulation with heart failure.  Would recommend doing TSH lab test first and seeing your physician.

: The doses must be determined by your physician who has examined you for this current condition. and knows your medical history as heavy doses of prednisone can affect blood pressure,blood sugar and cause sleeping difficulty. Can we be sure that the swelling of the face,ear&amp;neck is part of the allergic reaction &amp; not active infection that has not resolved and requires continued antibiotic treatment

Swelling is tough : Treatment is by cause so that must first be determined.  Some are self limited orhers can be chronic. Some are annoying but some can be very dangerous.  Start with your pcp (primary care physician).
