when is swelling worse after vaser lipo?

First 24-48 hrs: Vaser liposuction uses ultrasound energy to help facilitate traditional liposuction. With any kind of liposuction there will be some postoperative swelling. Most of it goes away in the first month. Then it may take another five months for the rest of the swelling to go away completely. I usually tell patients they can stand in front of the mirror and see final results at about six months.

Post-lipo edema: You may try lymphatic massages; but we don't know anything about you, not even your age or extent of the procedure or anatomic location of the procedure or your medical history. Please consult your surgeon.

The : The amount of swelling after any surgery can vary quite a bit depending on how extensive the procedure is. The swelling is usually that bad, but this is all relative. Ido find that wearing the compression chin strap dressing after surgery help clear the tissue swelling faster than if you don't wear it.

does massage help with swelling and faster healing after a body lift? i've heard that some people get lymphatic massages after liposuction to speed healing and reduce swelling. does it help after a body lift as well?

There : There are no peer-reviewed long term studies that verify this, but there are some smaller studies that demonstrate benefit.  If you see a licensed massage therapist there may be some benefit.

how long does it take before all the swelling is gone after chin liposuction? my doctor said i'd look normal again within 3 or 4 weeks. does that mean all the swelling will be gone at that point?

Most : Most of the bruising and swelling subsides after 7-10 days. If you take it easy, keep your head elevated and use ice packs, swelling can be minimized. After the initial healing period, there may be some residual swelling but you should be sociable.

If : If you are only a few days post op, then some swelling is to be expected. As your body heals, it is crucial that you eat a nutritious diet, or your wound healing can be delayed. It is prudent for you to call your doctor to advise that you are experiencing a lot of swelling and to get advise about your diet.
Ambulating and drinking a lot of water can help. You need to report this swelling to you doctor to ensure this is not an infection.

The : The swelling takes time to resolve but the time it takes to see your final result will depend on the amount of fat removed. A smaller amount will take less time to resolve as compared to larger amounts over more surface area.

: There is likely inflammation due to the procedure and a follow up appointment is indicated. Discuss with your specialist, and watch for signs of infection.
