been sick about 3 days now.started with a wet cough then the next day runny nose and nasal congestion. lost my smell but could still tell between sweet and salty in taste. took a covid home test negative. now dry cough and green mucus in nose. cold?

Accepted Answer

: See your doctor and have a full evaluation.  You may now have sinusitis, perhaps bacterial.  COVID-19 testing is most accurate via PCR and if not done, should be added.  An ENT doctor may be needed, but first start with the  basics.

Mucous where?: If you mean sinus mucous or postnasal mucous then it's possibly allergies to something you are eating. Gluten, oils, but residue etc. 
Sometimes if you have a strong nasopharyngeal reflex (not reflux) then you could just develop mucous with eating. Same way your mouth runs when you're eating.

If it mucous from the stomach then it could be that you have excess acid production worse with eating.

Recommendation : Please, be rational.  Four - 4 months of cough in smoker definitely requires   X-ray. And doctor evaluation. Please do not wait any longer. Nobody can not make a diagnosis on line.

Resistance: Can be a resistant strain of yeast. Best to get a culture to determine the drugs that are most effective.

Unknown: Since white and sweet potato bear little in common allergen-wise, it is not surprising that the skin tests were negative. It may also be something you added to the potato causing the problem or just a psychologic issue.  A double-blind food challenge may help clarify

Medication: It is not unusual since you are having the presence of mucus. Try to brush your tongue and also try earm salt water rinses.

Post nasal drip: Once your mucus enters the stomach it mixes with acids, proteins and sulfur producing bacteria which will assist with the smell and taste. You should be increasing your water intact on a daily basis.

Vaginal "musky" odor: The "taste" of cervical mucus may be confused with the smell, and at different times of the menstrual cycle, the odor/taste may be different. If you are concerned, see your gyn physician for a vaginal exam and culture.

why does the mucus in my throat taste metallic?

Metallic taste: A metallic taste in the mouth can occur with vitamin deficiencies.  Take A complex b stress vitamin daily and this usually resolves. Buoy can also get a metallic taste in the mouth with a facial nerve weakness and a condition called Bell's palsy.  If the face is symmetric when you smile you do not have to worry about this.
