i'm having fever for 3days now and i just realized the cause. i think it's because of the fishbone i accidentally swallowed last week. i thought it was gone since i ate 3bananas that time just to push the bone down. today i felt it again. what to do?

: Seeing your doc would be best. There are at least 2 things that need to be better understood, first your fever that may or may not be related to the second which is the stuck fishbone that will be unusual by itself to cause a fever. Your doc will be able to coordinate locally if the bone needs to be removed endoscopically.

fish bone swallowed a week ago.  having chest pain. x-ray done they see nothing cardiac issues ruled out. still throbbing pain in chest. nothing helps?

Barium study : If that was a plain X-ray fish bones may not be seen since fish bone is mainly cartilage. Therefore perhaps a barium swallow looking for a tear or CT to look for air outside the esophagus will provide more information. When all else fails a gastrointestinal physician and scope and endoscopy should be considered

every time i swallow i feel a uncomfortable feeling/pain and it feels like my hyoid bone is clicking or griding on something. if i touch my throat above my adams apple i can feel it clicking. its going on 3 weeks now. can acid reflux cause this?

Swallowing problem: Unlikely to be caused by reflux. Would recommend seeing an ENT, they can do a laryngoscopy and help diagnose the problem. Also a barium swallow can be done if needed.

trouble and painful swallowing (some food harder to go down than others) for 1.5 weeks. pain is located nipple level right side breast bone. not a smoker or drinker. 31 yo i have gerd. im afraid that is esophageal cancer?

: With a history of GERD, swallowing difficulties should be evaluated with endoscopy.  Get a referral to a GI specialist for testing.

i swallowed a small deer  bone 3 weeks ago. i believe it went down. now i am having ear pain sore thoart  (doesn't look red or irritated ) throat tightness and hard to swallow salvia. can eat and drink though?

Ordinary cold: Your symptoms suggest a typical cold is coming on.  There is no relationship between this and the swallowed deer bone which has long been digested and removed from your system

Depends on details: A person who swallows a small hard object such as a piece of bone, and then continues to eat solid food without problems... need not worry. If she was able to eat foods like bread or meat afterwards, then she knows the small hard object is in her stomach. Small bones that get in the stomach just get pooped out with the regular poop... unless you are really, really unlucky. Generally, no worries.

: "Weird" is too nonspecific to be able to properly advise you, but most of the time the chicken bone will cause no problems and certainly does not require an ER visit unless symptoms are severe. Most commonly it will cause minor trauma in the throat and esophagus as it is going down and the irritation may take a while to resolve.

: If it made it to the stomach without difficulty it will transit and exit from the digestive tract in 3-4 days. It is not a toxic substance &amp; swallowing non food items is rather common.

Maybe nothing but...: Small bones may actually pass thru the gut. However, large or elongated structures have the risk of turning sideways and getting stuck at any point in the GI tract. Bones can be endoscopically retrieved when they've made it no further than the stomach.  The ideal time to get help then is within 4 hours of ingesting the bone. If after that & you have obstruction symptoms, go straight to the er.

Fishbones: Nothing. This will digest or soften up in the stomach and pass in the stool.
