Ask referring doc: Even if your pictures look exactly like the one here (scattered T2 abnormalities in a woman of your age), you still wouldn't have an answer without further Dr's. exam and a detailed history.  You likely had some reason to have the study done and that reason is very important to establishing a diagnosis. Sorry I can't put your mind at ease. You will need a neurologist to sort it out.

: Findings  are nonspecific, and non-diagnostic.  Can be correlated with prior head trauma, smoking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, aging with microvascular angiopathy, early multiple sclerosis, etc.  Will need to  be discussed  with the doctor who  ordered study to   see  if this explains your symptoms.

Nondiagnostic: Although this pattern is nonspecific, it could be correlated with prior head trauma, microvascular angiopathy, hypertension, smoking, multiple sclerosis, perhaps migraine(but most of lesions should be posterior), medications.  It is best to discuss these outcomes with the ordering doctor, as he(she) knows you best, and why films were ordered.

: These lesions are nonspecific, and theoretically could correlate with migraine and prior head trauma.  MS would be unlikely, based upon your description.  Suggest you schedule visits with your doctor and radiologist to discuss this in further detail.

mri says: slight increase in number of subcentimeter scattered subcortical & deep white matter increased t2/flair lesions likely representing chronic small vessel ischemia.  i take xarelto due to previous results.  what more should i know?

General health: Xarelto is pretty effective in preventing strokes but “mini strokes” that cause these little areas can still occur.   If you have high blood pressure it must be controlled; definitely do NOT smoke; get regular aerobic exercise; eat a diet high in antioxidants (fruits &amp; vegetables especially) &amp; keep brain exercising with reading/word puzzles/Sodoku/bridge/etc
