A member asked:

I received my mri result today. it says: there are innumerable punctate t2/flare hyperintense lesions throughout the subcortical and periventricular white matter. would you kindly let me know what this means. i am really worried?

Nondiagnostic: Although this pattern is nonspecific, it could be correlated with prior head trauma, microvascular angiopathy, hypertension, smoking, multiple sclerosis, perhaps migraine(but most of lesions should be posterior), medications. It is best to discuss these outcomes with the ordering doctor, as he(she) knows you best, and why films were ordered.
