: In a healthy younger person, common, not infrequent, mild head injuries would not be expected to cause intracranial bleeding.   Those at highest risk are older, especially those with brain atrophy, possess bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia, or thrombocytopenia, take anti-coagulants or anti-platelet drugs, or have high-impact head trauma.

Unpredictable: Usually most of the time immediately   in couple of hrs some times few  few days , epidural takes more time , will have lucid interval , some times dormant for months , the reason head injury needs evaluation by trained physician  and CT scans are required most of the time , clear instructions from ER at the time of discharge

: By far, the vast majority of closed head injuries NEVER develop subdural bleeding.  As we age, and brain atrophy ensues, the distance of bridging veins increases, leading to a higher risk of tearing and a subdural bleed.  If at age 18, bleeding does occur, it would be acute and quite noticeable.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Unless you are on medication to decrease blood clotting. The bleeding caused by trauma is not a contraindication to facial fillers. I am assuming this bleed is resolved and there are no current neurological complications . If they are complications hold off anything as non essential as fillers until everything is stable

: These are rarely seen unless there is a significant impact process. Examples include a car crash, sudden impact with a tree skiing downhill, falling from a significant height, bludgeoning with a weapon.

Low: Risk of subdural is low, if your only symptom is headache with too  much I-Pad use.  Reuce the periods of use and take breaks.  this may help

my daughter was diagnosed with small bilateral subdural hematoma. in her files the doctor say  no evidence of acute cerebral injury  & normocephalic & atramumatic head . can someone please explain what does that mean ?

: The issues are separate but seem contradictory. One statement relates to a blood collection in the space underneath the brain covering layer.  The other statement implies that no injury to the working brain tissue occurred. Normocephalic just means the shape is normal. Atraumatic means there is no evidence of trauma. I would discuss this with the ordering doc, it is confusing.

is a chronic subdural hematoma detected by ct scan important or just a normal occurance in a 83 year old that hit head 3 days prior to scan?

Chronic &gt; 3 days: "Chronic" means that the bleeding began a few wks after injury. Thus, it is less likely that the hit to the head 3 days prior to the head CT caused the "chronic" subdural hematoma (SDH). SDH and head trauma are risk factors for seizures and other conditions.
