Depending on what country you're in, you need to see a general practitioner familiar with local parasites or (in the USA), an infectious disease doc.

When people are immunocompromised that could become septic, develop shock, or other neurologic or pulmonary problems.

: There is cross reaction between serology test for strongyloides and filarial infection or infection due to soil-transmitted helminths. However, if the diagnosis is based clinical findings and serology test, it should be accurate. Treatment with Ivermectin alone is enough, especially with 2 doses in 10 days apart. Some doctors use both meds but Albendazole should be given at least 3 days.
