Yes, it can be.: Strongyloides infections when symptomatic can cause: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, cough, eosinophilic pneumonitis, rash (waist/ buttocks) & anemia. When people are immunocompromised that could become septic, develop shock, or other neurologic or pulmonary problems.
