3 month infant suddenly sticking out tongue when trying to breast feed - refusing nipple.cries when trying to feed bottle. he's on 2ml of ranitidine. ?

Nursing: See if the hospital where you delivered your baby has a lactation consultant. I'm assuming the ranitidine is for GERD. Make sure that the baby hasn't outgrown the present dose, by rechecking with your pediatrician. They can also rule out any other problems that might be causing this.

Bumps on Tongue: This is fully normal. These are two of your taste buds.  Taste buds are of varying size and it is often a surprise when we have not noticed them before.

: I don’t think it is TMJ.  However, how widely are you opening your mouth, when you stick tongue out.  Do you have any broken teeth.  I probably would start with Oral Surgeon.  Have an exam, and let OS take some diagnostic X-rays.  Do you clench you teeth.  Are you in a stressful situation.  Any ulcerations in mouth, on tongue. Again, I would seek out OS first.

Muscles: The attachments of the tongue muscle [and the tongue is essentially one large muscle covered with sensory tissue] is in the back of the throat and in what is called the "oro-pharynx. When you stick your tongue out, you are stretching those attachments. As far as it hurting, if the throat is sore from other reasons [trauma or infection] when the tongue is stuck out it will irritate it.

hi i noticed i have a white coating on the back of my tongue & its only on the back of my tongue. when i stick out my tongue i notice i have bad breath. i brush and floss regularly and use a tongue scraper and mouthwash. it wont go away?

For example, the person may begin to turn toward sounds such as a door closing or to look at objects. Also, the person may begin to recognize familiar faces. This is level 3 out of 8 levels.

Take tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen with food as needed.

Doctor can re-check: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat illness is bothersome (as in this case), recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat or a tonsillar abscess).
