Try these: Gargle with warm salt water and/or listerine. Take tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen with food as needed. Hope these would work.

Kissing Disease?: Sounds like it might be mononucleosis ( epstein barr virus) infection. You are in the right age group. Often associated with fatigue.

Gargle: Old remedy - gargle with peroxide, better is to gargle with Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) (rx from dentist or physician).
