my mom has stage 4 metastatic cancer of lungs, but primary is unknown. her gallbladder mass, ca is 19.9 which is high but her liver is alright. she got a ct scan done three months ago and her gallbladder seemed fine. could it be gallbladder cancer?

Possibly: Sorry to hear of this.If 90 days ago there was a normal gb on ct it's unlikely that this is the source. Your oncologist will guide you in determining management.If the gb is the source there's no advantage at this point to remove it. Good luck.

Disease in the lungs: Although lymphoma is usually found in the lymph nodes, both low grade and high grade lymphoma can be found in other organs including the lungs. High grade lymphoma is more likely to be found in the lung tissue itself while low grade is usually in lymph nodes throughout the lungs - unless the low grade lymphoma is quite advanced.

More info: 5 mm is small. What is the time interval between the scans? If it has been stable for about 2 years, it's benign.

Possibilities: Fluid in the lungs can be due to a heart problem, but can also be due to lymphoma. If the fluid is around the lungs, called a pleural effusion, the fluid can be removed to help your father feel better, and to analyze the reason the fluid is accumulating. If it is in the lungs, other tests may be able to be done to determine the cause.

is non-hodgkin lymphoma in the lungs curable? do doctors use radiation to the lungs?

Could be: Depending upon morphology of tumor it could be.R/t has been used for the treatment also curable with chemotherapy.

Unknown: Many genetic predispositions exist that we can't identify.
However, lung cancer and leukemia together is unusual and suggests an environmental exposure. Were the victims smokers? Any specific occupation (i.e. Miners or coal workers or other?) i'd be much bore suspicious that your dad and his brother were exposed to something that led to the diseases.

is it possible to have lymphoma & lung cancer at the same time? are diseases related? would severe, painful swelling of foot,ankle,& leg be a symptom?

Yes: It is definitely possible, however it is more likely that if someone has lymphoma and a mass is found in the lung that it is a lesion from the lymphoma rather than a true " lung cancer". But both are possible.  Biopsy would surely differentiate between the two.

had hodgkins lymphoma 5 years ago  just recently started feeling bad. just had ct scan of my lungs where they found some lymph  nodes.  is it possibl e  the cancer has come back.?

Possible need workup: Remarkable progress has been  made in treating hodgkins lymphoma, with chemotherapy, unfortunately could recur in few, need work  up pet scan and possible biopsy to rule out recurrence.Talk to your oncologist.

painful swelling in ankle&leg. docs think lymphoma, x-ray also found lump on lung. will biopsy to confirm cancer-how to manage painful severe swelling?

Compression : You need a venous duplex ultrasound of legs to assess for dvt.  But beyond this diagnosis, compression hose are best to assist with leg oedema.
