Arthritis: Arthritis or tendinitis are common there and anything else would be rare.  Garden variety osteoarthritis seems most likely, but really hard to tell given the scant info. Could potentially be a rheumatologic (inflammatory) arthritis as well.

Several causes: Assuming there is no injury, most common cause of thumb pain is a trigger finger usually associated with a snapping sensation or loss of motion. Carpal tunnel, or arthritis can also cause thumb pain. Needs an evaluation by hand surgeon to properly diagnose and treat.

Need more info: There are a number of things that could cause that but you need to see someone who can take a good history and do a good physical examination. A good orthopedic surgeon or hand surgeon would be appropriate of this has been there a while and is limiting your activities.

Hand pain: Stabbing pain is most of the time muscular in nature. However, tingling and numbness/weakness would be a sign of nerve entrapment (carpal tunnel syndrome). Stop texting for a while and it should get better. Texting can also lead to cervical spine strain and disc damage+nerve entrapments. Use heat twice a day for at least a week. Immerse your hand in warm water and exercise by opening and closing.

It may be in irritat:  it may be an irritated nerve. Can't say for sure where it would be coming from but someplace up the arm. Could even be as far up is it your neck. I'm assuming the palm of your hand is not tender. Your physician will evaluate you, see if these issues are occurring, might recommend a splint for your wrist to start with, but you need a full evaluation for the best therapy.

I do not know: Best to get an eval with a sharp stabbing pain in your l groin area.  Muscle strains/sprains, ovaries, l sided pelvic structures, the large bowel, and the chance of a possible hernia can all be possible causes.  Best wishes.

Stabbing hand pain: Is your hand warm or cold? May be carpal tunnel or ulnar radicular pain,tendonitis rarely could be clot in artery but usually the hand is cold with no pulse and it is medical emergency.May benefit from splint, massage ,warm soaks, NSAIDs if not allergic. Would seek medical attention today in urgent care,doctor. if no pulse go  to ER now.
