No: You're almost a grown woman and you need to be aware that casual contact with surfaces that "just might have a bit of dried blood" won't give you HIV. During the old days when there was no Rx, casual family contacts simply didn't catch the virus. Stop worrying about this stuff. You're too smart to end up paralyzed.

Practice "universal precautions" always and if you think you have experienced an unprotected exposure seek help immediately. Testing usually can be obtained from that patient to determine whether or not a virus was present.

im getting antbiotics thru iv. there is dried blood inside the line . do they have to remove it? i have the line closed until next round tomorrow?

: As long as the tube is open enough to allow fluid to flow through it they do not need to remove any dried blood. What you may see is usually a stain that attached inside the tubing. It would not break off and cause a stroke or other bad problem. If the blood blocks the tube completely they start another IV.

any risk to me as i lifted it?

Dried blood: If it was dried blood, there should be no worry as most organisms cannot survive for that long. In addition if you have no open areas on your body that the blood could come in contact with, there is no portal of entry for pathogens to cause any concern.
