im scared its blood in my phlegm i was coughing quite heavily to try cough up some phlegm which i decided to swallow and when i spit some orange brown specs was in it i told my mum crying cause ive read it could lead to vomitblood bush she said no?

: A little blood in sputum (phlegm) during colds, bronchitis, flu, etc usually isn't serious or harmful. See a doctor if bleeding seems heavy (e.g. coughing nearly pure blood) or if it continues after your cold/bronchitis improves over the next week or two.

i had a cold 2 weeks ago but now it's gone except i keep getting phlegm in my throat. in the morning i spit up a little brown mucus. no fever or cough?

Brown may be blood: This may be left over from the infection you need to see your physician if this persists.

Mucus or saliva: Is it coming from the mouth or down your throat ? Do you cough or just spit ? Are you on medication ? There are medications that make you hyper-salivate . If you can give us more information and clarify your symptoms , we can help better.

Spit up: A little spitting up now and then is fine.  If it appears to be more of a regular occurrence, discuss it with your pediatrician.

No: Spitting may help you deal with thick nasal secretions that drain into your throat, but it does not rid your body of germs.  It does spread them however.

See doctor: You need to take him to see a doctor today. Spitting mucus with blood in a 9 year old is not normal. Please have him seen by his doctor as soon as possible.

i slept with my fan on high (which i dont normally do). i woke up with a little post nasal drip and spitting mucus. my mucus had a tinge of blood. should i be concerned?

Amount: If this occurs once with post nasal drip and it is a small amount, it is probably related to infection and inflammation. If the bleeding worsens, please see your physician right away. Use nasal saline rinses for relief of congestion.

Spitting up blood: There are many reasons for your symptoms but without getting more information and talking to you and examining you I cannot help except to go to a walk in clinic if u do not have a reg doctor, some of the reasons are not good and some are no worries. See someone. Some BP MEDS  cause cough. So need more info. Happy to do second opinion.

No Spitting!: Please do not spit. The stomach can easily digest whatever mucus comes from the nose, sinuses, lungs, etc...  There is no reason to spit.

i have excessive phlegm/mucus coming from my throat that i spit out a couple times an hour. happening for about 5 years now. any otc meds i can take?

Need exam: You need to go for a full exam with a physician. A physician needs to know your full medical history, medications, allergies, family and social history, and ask other questions before they do a physical exam and possibly refer you to specialists.
