A member asked:

Can spitting help get most germs out during a cold? & not spitting mucus, just any saliva that comes

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Spitting may help you deal with thick nasal secretions that drain into your throat, but it does not rid your body of germs. It does spread them however.
