: Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet medication and is used "off label" under supervision of a cardiologist for treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD).  Consult with a cardiologist for individual risk potentials.

Location: Some strokes affecting the frontal lobe can cause that .. Generally big strokes with big motor deficit or speech problem can make the patient also depressed and has some behavioral change.

No simple answer: Physical therapists and occupational therapists are the experts in this area.  Everyone who has had a stroke deserves special attention from these professionals and you can learn directly from them and apply that knowledge at home on an on-going basis. They'll be very happy to teach you, in my experience.

Every 3 - 4 hours: Preventing bed sores is extremely important in a bedridden patient.  Turning every 3 - 4 hours should suffice for most patients.  Watch the sacrum and the heels, which are very susceptible.  There are special beds available which can help as well.

It's : It's a good idea to take a week off after a stroke, but not to avoid activity.  Remember that people with severe strokes are sent to physical therapy right away.  I recommend easing back into your life over a week, then you may be back to your normal routine. Exercise in moderation is usually ok.    However, you must talk with your doctor about this.  The real question is why did you have a stroke?  That question needs to be answered before you exercise -- you may need new medications and you have to discuss your plans with your doctor. It is a mistake to just "have a mild stroke" and then change nothing without figuring out why that happened.

i'm a year post stroke 100% physical recovery but have memory and focus issues. also get overwhelmed and distracted easily is there anything to help?

Help: These post stroke problems are not at all unusual. For help I would emphasize stress management techniques and avoidance of sleeping pills, tranquilizers and alcohol. Working with a psychologist or psychiatrist is worthwhile. Also with more time these problems will usually improve as well and continued improvement after strokes goes on  for months and years as brain function recovery is ongoing.

i'm a year and a half post stroke. i'm having problems waking up in the mornings and at night. i have a job that frequently requires me to wake up randomly during the night. is there anything i can do to improve my waking up?

: We build up carbon dioxide in out system during sleep. This may lead to heavy sleep. Try getting better ventilation during the night by sleeping with an open window and open door. . Drinking some caffeinated beverage prior to bedtime may lighten your deep sleeping.

Indefinitely: Depending on the size and location of a stroke, a person can remain comatose indefinitely, even with aggressive medical interventions.

There is no: "standard of care" for this condition since MANY "Treatments" exists and any one of them could help! Avoidance of OPIATES is now a sort of "Standard"  as we try to reduce overuse of these medications. TENS stimulation appears to be helpful in many cases
