When the hole closes: Until the hole in the gum and bone closes you should watch what you eat. Spicy or hard foods can injure the area or at the very least cause pain. If you're in doubt, call the dentist who removed them or go see him/her.

Wisdom teeth: Typically one should wait at least a week to eat spicy foods after having their wisdom teeth extracted.  Two weeks is more safe, heat can dissolve the protective blood clot that forms in the socket after the tooth is extracted.  If the blood clot is removed or lost, then dry socket may occur, which can be very painful.  The longer you wait, the safer you are.

its been more than 72 hours after i have gotten all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed is it ok to eat seafood ? a little spicy food ? drink from a straw ?

: Each surgery is quite different. We have no clue regarding the difficulty of the procedure, sutures, healing. You should be fine, but if you're looking for a go ahead, ask your oral surgeon

Rinse your mouth out: If you have stiches and food is stuck you may need to go to your surgeon to have them get it out.  If you rinse your mouth out after every meal then they will stay clean.  You can ask your surgeon for a syringe to help rinse out the food around your stiches.  Be careful and try not to tear them.

Irrigate: You need to irrigate the area with salt water. You can get plastic syringes from your surgeon or from the pharmacy. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and use that to irrigate the area. Irrigation will keep the area clean and will soothe the socket.

got wisdom teeth out but didn't need stitches. is it bad if food gets stuck in those holes and i can't get it out?

Holes fill in soon: If no pain, keep the holes clean, irrigate, &amp; they will fill in before you know it. If there is pain associated, the holes may need to be irrigated and packed by the surgeon.

i ha one top wisdom teeth were food stuck and i'm planning to remove the top, but i want a second opinion if take the bottom too taking advantage of the anesthesia or if not recommended to remove the bottom ones as no problem presented so far. ?

Wisdom teeth: That is a decision to be made by your General Dentist or specialist Oral Surgeon. Generally, wisdom teeth are removed if they are involved in a pathologic situation such as damage to the surrounding hard or soft tissues, bite problem, decayed/broken/infected tooth, etc. Sometimes when 1 tooth is removed the opposing tooth over-erupts creating bite problems. Talk this over with your surgeon.

what are the best foods to eat just after having your wisdom teeth pulled?

Soft diet: Soups, puddings, jello, & hard-boiled eggs are foods that are acceptable based on their soft texture and blandness.  Stay away from hard, crunchy or spicy foods.  The idea is to keep the wound free of excess debris and to allow the wound to heal- 'unobstructed' as quickly as possible.  Remember to stay away from straws while drinking or anything else that creates negative pressure on the socket.

after removing wisdom teeth, when can i eat normal foods again?

It can vary: After having wisdom teeth removed, you should start off with a soft diet and advance to solid foods as you can tolerate. Every patient is different as are their eating patterns following surgery.  Some patients may fee they can only tolerate soft foods for the first week, while other patients resume their regular diet immediately following surgery.
