: Any lesion that doesn't heal on its own within two weeks should be evaluated. It may be nothing to worry about but until it is examined and possibly biopsied if deemed suspicious we won't know. Please see an oral surgeon for an evaluation.

See a dentist: Most soars normally heal with in seven to ten days. If your soar is still there after 3 weeks than you need to look in to it as soon as possible. Please see a Dentist or an ENT for proper examination and treatment.

Short healing time: Keep mouth scrupulously clean (floss daily, brush 2x/day for 2 fulminates by the clock.  Dab Orajel or Orabase-B onto sore spot with q-tip. Take Ibuprofen as per package directions.   If still a problem in a week, see your Dentist.

Yes, it will heal: This often happens when trying to contour a filling that extends at or below the gum line. It should heal without issue.

i had blood clot removed from my gum/ lip area  july 1 st. when i wear my denture it is still sore. how long will this take to heal completely?

In time: If the base of the denture or the edge is rubbing the surgery site then it will take longer for the area to heal.  If it takes more than another week or so you might want to have the surgeon check this out.  Although not likely, non-healing wound may be something more serious, and will need additional attention.

Gum: Gingivitis, poor dental hygiene, immunosupression , chemotherapy, diabetes, a cold, apthous sore, dilantin, trauma, dentures  etc.

Good OH: Keep the area clean by good oral hygiene.  Check with your dentist for gingivitis or periodontal disease in the area.  Check also for pulpal reaction which may required root canal.  Finally, check for occlusion which may exacerbate the destructive effect of these conditions.
