Need to go see a doc: If you have severe sore throat, you may be better off going to an er and seek immediate medical attention. Pain medicines will help to control your pain. Antibiotics may be required if the doctor found any indication of infection in your throat. You could take tylenol (acetaminophen) to relieve the pain although it alone may not be enough.

the glands in my neck are sore the next 1-2 days after drinking. i did vomit, so could that cause achey glands? no sharp pain. minimal swelling. ty!

The vomiting and: swollen nodes may have a common underlying cause but vomiting by itself won't cause achy or swollen glands.  Infection in the head or neck area can cause swollen lymph nodes (glands).  Sometimes infections are associated with nausea, vomiting and other symptoms. Infection: Sounds like you have an infection.  Some Upper Respiratory Infections (URI's) can cause lymph nodes in the neck area to get inflamed and cause neck pain,etc.  Se the Dr. to get treated.  Best wishes.

Check it out: Chloraseptic liquid will ease the canker sore without burning the tissue. If the swollen gland does not go away in a week or 10 days have your dentist look for a dental infection and failing that see your physician to have it checked out

im 36 y/o non-smoker and doesnt drink. has a congenital heart disease (heart valve repair at birth) has excessive night sweats for last 10 years and now i have a swollen neck gland that is tender to touch. lost 20 lbs so far no common cold or infects?

: Time to seek medical attention as the night sweats and weight loss are significant. A thyroid condition among many other possibilities may contribute to current symptoms. Best would be to start with your PCP  who can coordinate workup and possible local referrals.

Mallory Weiss Tear: Mallory-Weiss syndrome is a gastro-esophageal laceration,occuring in 3-15%  person with UGI Bleed. ,Occurs after  a prolonged  or forceful bout of retching.
Sudden increased pressure within the non distensiible lower esophagus causes tearing.
It is most common between ages of 30 and 50 years, 
Excessive ETOH ingestion, Gastroenteritis, Hyper emesis gravidarum,   and Bulimia are risk factors

1-2 days: If not better in 24-48 hours see dr immediately. That's how long antibiotics should start working.

Dehydration : Dry throat after drinking (sore throat) occurs because of dehydration.  Hydrate as much as possible after drinking, ad keep onsumption to a minimum.

Not really!: Could you be participating in other physical activities when you drink alcohol that perhaps you don't remember the next day?  Or could be that you sleep in an unusal position when you drink before bedtime?

Get seen: Without an assessment it is not clear if you were just hung over or if something more serious and potentially life threatening is going on. You need to be seen in an ER. And DO NOT drink any alcohol until you have been assessed. You maybe are off better not drinking at all. See a doc right away.
