i have a lump on the back of my hand sort of in the middle.it causes some pain when i bend my hand down. what should i do?

Ganglionic Cyst: It is most likely a ganglionic cyst or synovial cyst. These are mobile and compressible, like a ball with air in it, not hard like a rock. Please see your primary care physician for diagnosis and treatment. Corticosteroid injections can shrink it. if you rest your hand and the pain doesn't improve, you may need an orthopedic hand specialist's opinion.

Ganglion cyst: You didn't mention pain, just the presence of a strange lump on the back of your wrist. This is a classic presentation for a ganglion cyst which is just fluid collection in a pocket of joint lining or synovium. These are benign & don't spread. They can be aspirated (fluid is very thick) or we can poke a bunch of holes in cyst and let it drain on its own. Sometimes we just drop a book to break it!

have a small lump of about 7x4mm on back of hand for 4 wks. it grew in size for 2.5wks then started to shrink. what condition is it? is it lymphoma?

?ganglion cyst: The most common lump that people get on the back of the hand is a ganglion cyst. It is caused when a bit of the synovium (lining of the joint) pops out in a joint space. They are benign and usually go away on their own. This is not a typical presentation for lymphoma. If you are anxious about it have your doctor take a look.

i have a small cluster of strange lumps on the back of my head, all on the right hand side. a few of these are painful, but the largest of them isnt?

Head lumps: hello ~ difficult to give you an exact diagnosis because you do not give enough history. These could be lymph nodes if they are pea-sized or they could be lipomas. This is one of those things we cannot give you and exact diagnosis unless we can see and palpate the lumps. I think a trip to the local NHS doc is in the offing? thanks

Painless lump, hand: You can think of many benign tumors like  ganglion cyst, sebaceous cyst, lipoma, etc.Dx depends  on when seen by md and if biopsy is needed.

Concern: By your description, sounds like they could be veins.  However, because they are hard, there might be a blood clot in them.  Whatever the case, You should take an aspirin and see a doctor soon to have them evaluated

See doc: Unfortunately, without seeing or feeling it, it is like poking in the air. It may be infected if it is red and painful, so don't delay, see your doc.

Yes: This lump may have many causes.  Please see a doctor for an exam.  Also the spine may not be moving as needed.  This needs to be checked.

Ganglion cyst hand: Wear a splint to decrease use, PO anti inflammatory meds. If still an issue than seek surgical removal...
