See below: Elevated CO2 (aka metabolic alkalosis) also most likely related to your diuretic and, as an isolated abnormality, is nothing to be overly concerned about. Low potassium and high calcium, glucose, uric acid, and CO2 are amongst the most common side effects and lab abnormalities to occur due to diuretic therapy. You should discuss these results with your MD along with potassium supplementation.

Till free of smoke.: Smoke exposure is a known risk factor for asthma exacerbations and er visits for asthma sufferers.  Fortunately, nearly as soon as a person with asthma is no longer exposed to second hand smoke, they will not be at any greater risk of asthma exacerbations compared to the risk of another asthma sufferer who was not exposed to smoke.

It could.: Asthma comes in a few varieties, but it is the result of complicated genetics and exposure to lung irritants and allergens.  Your kids may develop asthma even if they are never exposed to smoking, but exposure certainly increases their risk.  Not to mention smoking exposure increases chidren's risk of respiratory infections and may even contribute to developing of COPD or lung cancer later in life.

Asthma: Asthma can be a very serious disease.   It it's the result of chronic inflammation in the lungs.   Smoking is probably the worst thing someone with asthma can do.  There are medications to improve the inflammation of asthma, but smoking puts more fuel on the fire, making the meds less effective.

Its deficiency, yes: alpha 1 antripsin deficiency does affect the lungs, as the enzyme plays a major role in defending the lung tissues, refrain from smoking and being around smokers, take medicines as prescribed and keep your follow up appointments, goodluck

Possibly: Inhaling particulates like those in tobacco can cause attacks. These substances can cause inflammation which is the primary reaction in asthma followed by constriction of your lung "tubes". Of course, if you have asthma you should quit. I know it isn't easy but you must give it a try.

COPD: Not asthma, but smoking anything can lead to COPD (bronchitis or emphysema).  Unfortunately, this is worse than asthma because asthma is reversible, but COPD is chronic.  Be smart...Don't put anything in your lungs!

Asthma and smoking: These 2 don't go well together, you are asking for trouble. You are adding insult to injury by adding toxins to an inflamed airway and it is going to potentiate the problem and trigger asthma attacks and further the severity of your symptoms.

Generally no: While weed doesn't cause as much problems with asthma as tobacco smoke, you really don't know what is in it, and any burned material being inhaled is not good for your longs.  That being said, the active ingredients in pot, cannabadiol and thc, may have some bronchodilating properties.  You don't know, however, whether the weed has been sprayed with insecticides etc etc.  Not a good idea.
