Marinol (dronabinol): Marinol is a synthetic oral preparation of delta-thc. It's a controlled substance requiring a prescription for  specific conditions such as severe chemotherapy-associated nausea & vomiting; anorexia from cancer/aids; intractable cholestatic pruritis. Side effects include postural hypotension, tachycardia, hypertension; CNS issues, etc. Tolerance to its effects develops. Caution w/liver disease.

: There are no known drug interactions but marijuana is known to affect the heart. It can raise blood pressure and cause cardiac arrhythmia.

Nope: Smoking anything is bad for asthmatics. Although studies have shown mj to be a bronchodilator, there are many safer and more effective methods to treat asthma.

Maybe: As to whether it "is safe" to smoke cannabis prior to a medical evaluation blood test it would not be expected for the test values to be significantly altered except for the cannabis blood level.  Question of safety is more properly directed to safety of driving to the testing facility.

Side effects...: ...of marijuana include increased appetite and weight gain, so it kind of ruins whatever effect you are hoping for from topiramate. Sounds like an individual decision, how bad the pain is vs the weight problem, and is the pain weight related -- in which case cannabis is the last thing you'd want for the pain.

i am5 months post op t3- pelvic fusion with a pso and tlif the fusion didnt heal properly and i need a revision surgery did my fusion not heal because i smoke medical marijuana? i have for years and my doctors know but didnt tell me to stop?

: There are NO rigorous studies involving marijuana smoking, as contrasted to tobacco smoking, BUT nonetheless, I would be suspicious that the answer is compelling.  Since you are considering revisional surgery, why not stop smoking period and see if success can be achieved?  (See comment regarding post-op risks that are known.  Ask your doctors if they are aware of the complications.)

I : I would be very concerned about using marijuana if you have bipolar ii disorder.  One of the main reasons for bipolar patients not getting well is abuse of alcohol or illicit drugs.   Contrary to popular opinion, marijuana can be very mood altering- especially if you already have a serious psychiatric illness. Even a person without  bipolar ii disorder, could develop hallucinations, paranoia, delusions, ilusions, psychosis, out of body experiences and a wide variety of other very unpleasant effects.  Medical marijuana is only prescribed for specific conditions in most states. Medical marijuana is only legal in 15 states plus the district of columbia right now. I hope this information was helpful.

Define safe !: I cannot see that it would place you at any more risk than the drug effect would have anyway. Any diminished immune response would be minimal.

Tonsils out: Medical THC does thin the blood and so potentially can promote bleeding. You just had the tonsils out and there is risk of bleeding from the bed. This risk can last from 7-10 days.  I would suggest avoid use until 7-10 days
