hi there, i'm a 39 yr old female. i have a small swollen (hard) lymph node in my right groin area. i have lower back pain and pain in my right hip. ?

Needs medical exam: You should see either your primary doctor or your OB/GYN as soon as possible and have that evaluated.  It's possible that it may be nothing more than a rogue urinary tract infection.  But the hard and swollen lymph node needs to be evaluated by medical personnel (doctor preferably) sooner rather than later.  Cheers!

RO lymphoma or met.: This is an abnormal node that needs excisional bx.  Path review defines dx.  This can represent early lymphoma or met to node.  Met can arise from perianal area Ca or region adjacent to vulva.

towards the end of accutane, got a small swollen lymph node in groin area. it is gradually shrinking in size but still present. is this normal?

No: See your DR. Since it is shrinking, and since you report no other symptoms, it is likely to be a benign process. Are you sure it is a lymph node?

Prior surgery?
If you are very thin, some modes may be palpable but best to have evaluated?

Other symptoms?: A rash in that area can cause a swollen lymph node. Do you have any new bruising, fatigue, large lymph nodes anywhere else, fevers, night sweats or unintentional weight loss? If any of these, you need to see doc now. If really not sick (like you said), you could watch this. If it increases in size any more, i would have a doc look at it. Otherwise, lymph nodes can take 1-2 months to go away.

Go see a doctor: Any lymph node that is continuing to enlarge is a sign of something serious that needs medical attention. You should go see your family doctor right away. If you can not get to him/her, you may have to go to the Er to see a doctor in the ER.

ive have a single inguinal lymph node swollen for about 6 months. it will go down for a few days, but not completely small, then larger. never larger that 1cm. no symptoms. i have gad so this isn't sitting well with me?

: Palpable lymph nodes are not of significant concern unless their size is  more than 1CM and there is continued enlargement in the size without  having a decrement in size. So you do not have to check your groin node more than once a month and ignore it unless there is increase in size to more than 1CM.

Groin lymph nodes: Don't panic. These nodes are usually the largest in the body because they are located in an area that isn't clean and they have to manage a lot of activity. If they don't hurt and you don't have any new symptoms (vaginal discharge or foul odor), then just keep an eye on it/them. If painful or not going away, you can show a doctor.

Check  source: If nodes appear swollen, check for possible origin such as a skin lesion on the legs or lower abdomen.  Also in females a vaginal lesion must be ruled out as well as perianal growth.  If nothing found glands are to be watched.  If the become more numerous, larger or firmer then biopsy indicated.
