Very high: Neglected sqamous cell skin cancer is a very lethal lesion. It rapidly penetrates to deeper layers of skin , spread to regional lymph nodes. Early detection and wide excision will assure  cure if you see a non healing ulcer seek the help of your physician for early diagnosis and cure.

It can.: Skin cancer (basal cell in particular) is often slow to go to the lymph nodes. In general, squamous cell cancer can and the larger and more agressive it gets, the more likely this becomes. A good phyical exam can very much help with this issue. Then, imaging can often help with this, in particular pet/ct scans. Ultimately, a biopsy can become necessary as ln's can just be reactive.

Yes!: Melanoma has about 50% probability of cure  as long as it has only spread to the regional lymph nodes. The number of nodes affected by tumor will determine the risk of relapse and the odds of achieving cure .

i was diagnosed with melanoma in situ (0.4 x 0.4 x 0.1cm) on my right shin and am having surgery in two weeks.  i will be getting skin checks every three months. what are the chances this could spread to my lymph nodes later on?

Very low risk: In Stage 0 melanoma, the malignant tumor is still confined to the upper layer of the skin—the epidermis—which means the cancer cells are only in the outer layer of the skin and have not grown into the second layer of skin, called the dermis. Stage 0 melanoma is not considered invasive melanoma, therefore there is very very low risk of it spreading to lymph nodes.

can a left ear melanoma give swollen lymph nodes on both sides of the neck, on the back of the head left side and also on the top of both shoulders?

Certainly: Melanoma can travel anywhere in the body, no matter where it originated. So, yes, a left ear melanoma can travel to lymph nodes in your neck (cervical nodes) on both sides, including the top (supraclavicular) and bottom (infraclavicular) areas of the collar bones.

do you need to have cancer present in a lymph node to make all of your other lymph nodes enlarged due to cancer? i have 2 pea sized lymph nodes at the back of my head which haven't in 6 months, so can they cause my other nodes to become enlarged?

: Repeat question; see previous reply. An inflamed or enlarged node cannot cause another to enlarge and get inflamed. This still sounds normal and nothing to worry about. But see a doctor if you remain concerned.

Check for rash: A localizearea with radiation of the pain, is suggestive of a nerve pain, with involvement of likely muscular, as it is related to movement, it is important to see if there is no rash, as on some occasions, prior to herpes zoster,one can have these symptoms

ct urogram showed "few lymph nodes are in the pancreatic head and anterior to the ivc measuring 1 cm in short axis by 2.7 cm precaval node and 0.8 x 1.2 cm node peripancreatic". is all this cancer ?. thank you?

: Lymph nodes are normally present in the area examined. it is not feasible to diagnose or exclude cancer from this information. Talk to the doctor who ordered the study.
