It can.: Skin cancer (basal cell in particular) is often slow to go to the lymph nodes. In general, squamous cell cancer can and the larger and more agressive it gets, the more likely this becomes. A good phyical exam can very much help with this issue. Then, imaging can often help with this, in particular pet/ct scans. Ultimately, a biopsy can become necessary as ln's can just be reactive.
