Early treatment!: Cancer cells gradually invade and replace normal tissue. When skin cancer is more aggressive and fast growing the tumor can outgrow its blood supply.  This leads to death  or necrosis of the part of the tumor that is deprived of oxygen and may appear as a crusty or ulcerated area that may have a foul odor.  

So it is important to have suspicious areas checked and to treat skin cancer early!

A new bump: Skin cancer can look very benign. It can be a small skin colored bump or can be an ulcer that bleeds easily. If you have something new have it checked out.

Yes but rare @17: I have seen bcc in a 5 year old but that is rare and he had a syndrome. It isoprene likely an inflmatory lesion or benign growth but see a dermatologist for a definitive diagnosis and possible biopsy or excision.

Ask the DR!!!!!: Was it a MOHS procedure? Graft? Sutures? Dressing? Forget about magic pills or vitamins to reduce scars: they are bogus claims. Usually WATER is best for routine cleaning. Keep it lubricated with vaseline or Aquaphor. Bacitracin and neosporin are useless. Worse, they are common sensitizers which may cause allergic reactions and interfere with wound healing. Probably not.: It would be unusual for a 25 year-old to develop skin cancer.  Best to probably have a dermatologist look at it though to be on the safe side.

Yes: You can get it as a teen. Tom dooley md got his fatal melanoma in his mid-30's and one of my students in his 20s has a basal cell ca on his face already. Get the thing looked at and treated now. Since it's peeling it's likely to be an actinic keratotis but it needs to be seen and treated. Be brave and do it.

Hard to predict: It is well known that sunburn and excess sun exposure increase the risk of skin cancer. he lifetime risk of skin cancer is 20% and it is estimated that by age 65, 40% of individuals will have acquired at least one lesion.  Fortunately, most of these are not melanomas, which carry the worst prognosis. I recommend using sunscreen on a regular basis to minimize further risk and avoid tanning booths.

Moisturize: You should see your friendly dermatologist to make sure that it is just dry skin that you are dealin with. If it is, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Possibly: sounds more like skin damage from the sun called Actinic Keratosis. Go to your primary care physician and they should be able to freeze it off.
