i struggle with major anxiety and use medication for it. today i went for a flu and sinus shot and now a few hours later, i feel more anxious than ever with cold sweats and dizziness. could one of these two shots increase anxiety symptoms?

Uncertain:  The influenza vaccine should not be increasing your anxiety. However, I don't know what you mean by "sinus" shot. Thus, I can't tell you if this increases risk for anxiety. What I need to ask is if you are having any difficulty breathing? Swelling of mouth, lips or throat?  Chest tightness? Those could be signs of havaing an allergic rxn to one of your shots.

Turbinates: We often inject a small amount of steroids into structures in the nasal passage called turbinates. These winglike structures often swell excessively due to chronic  rhino sinusitis and a little steroid stops it.

i got a sinus cocktail shot yesterday 10am and couldn't sleep last night. horrible headache and bright red mottled face this morn. need for concern?

Call your DR: Your DR has your medical history and recent exam findings.
I would suggest calling and informing of the new findings.

Why anxious ??: The shot just replicates what the body does naturally in releasing stress hormones to fight the stress of infection. It is just a higher dose. The duration in your system would depend on the specific form of the  drug given which is not in your post. A single shot does not interfere with your immune system in the long term.

Unlikely: however you need to report it to your doctor, it can still be your sinus problem uncontrolled,

4-6 hrs: 100mg of tramadol shot will last 4-6 hrs. However 90% of recurring "sinus headache" are migraine. Discuss this with your primary.

It can: Some people react to steroids with insomnia. It could be that the sinus pain is keeping you awake. It is also possible that with your sinuses blocked you are having some bouts of sleep apnea at night which will hopefully clear when your sinuses improve.

Not normal: but as well unlikely to be related to the shot, even if the needle hits a nerve on side, it wouldn't cause all those symptoms on both side and lower back, and sometimes the symptoms you described are treated with steroids. You want to see your doctor for assessment, meanwhile take an NSAID as ibuprofen, but read the labels carefully, and get some rest,  good luck

Needs to be rechecke: This is strange, yet it can be  a lab error. I would advise close follow up with a recheck x 1-2 till WBC count is at least 4, 000.

received a depomedrol shot today 80mg, in my bottom, for allergies & sinus issues. when will it kick in and how long will it last?

About 6 hrs: You should get some effects in about 6 hrs but the peak effect takes a day or two  In general, I would advise against getting cortisone shots for a sinus infection  especially for someone with anxiety  &amp; BP issues since nasal steroid likely works better with no serious side effects. If you have frequent sinusitis and allergies, best to consult an allergist.
