Sinus infection: Sinus infection most likely.  Viral cause most often and resolves in 10-14 days.  Bacterial/fungal infections may require treatment. If it is worsening after 5 days, severe pain, if you can't smell very well, or this is a recurrent problem (annual sinus infection or more often); then good idea to see a specialist for Immune System work up and evaluation for chronic rhinitis.

Allergies vs Infecti: First thing is to figure out if is this an infection or allergies.  Depending on timing, severity and quality of discharge this can be figured out.
Speak to you PCP since the treatment can range from Zyrtec (cetirizine) to Antibiotics.

: Sinus pressure can cause a dripping sensation in the head. When the sinuses become congested, the mucus can build up and create pressure in the sinus cavities. This pressure can then cause the mucus to drip down into the back of the throat, resulting in a post-nasal drip sensation. Additionally, the pressure in the sinus cavities can also cause a feeling of fullness or pressure near the ears.

Blockage/discharge: If you have intense pain, that sinus might be blocked and depending on the type of anti-biotic and the course of treatment, the sinus infection might have not been fully treated. I suggest doing saline rinses (netti pot or ocean spray), warm compresses and decongestants like Mucinex (guaifenesin) d and if the pain persists, go see your doctor for evaluation.

Recurrent sinusitis : If pain continues to be there after two weeks you may need an antibiotic course. Take Ibuprofen if no allergies or pregnant, increase fluid intake and  see a physician.
