No: Gas in not a sign of ectopic pregnancy.  Pelvic  pain and bleeding typically 6-8 weeks after last period are some classic symptoms of ectopic pregnancy.

Not likely: Sharp abdominal or pelvic cramping during a pregnancy is the hallmark of an ectopic pregnancy although you may not even know you're pregnant as ectopic pregnancy usually occurs during the first few weeks of a pregnancy. Abnormal uterine bleeding may occur.

Don't use symptoms: If you've had a positive test, most ectopics are pretty silent until about the 5th week at the earliest. Are you at risk for ectopic? If so and you are pregnant see a doctor asap, do not wait for symptoms. By the time you have significant shoulder pain you are already in deep trouble.

Follow levels: Congrarulations and good luck. The pain is likely nothing to worry about, but you should have the BHCG level followed up to make sure everything is OK. Also, a progesterone level would be helpful in making sure everything is ok.

Ectopic pregnancy ? : IUD's do not protect against pregnancy outside the uterus.  Pain on one side of lower abdomen is associated with possible ectopic pregnancy, so see your gyn physician for a serum HCG test to be certain, as this sort of pregnancy needs immediate attention.

Ectopic pregnancies can be treated without surgery if found early enough, but can be life-threatening otherwise.

C MD: If you are concerned about a possible ectopic pregnancy then you need to be checked immediately. Did they not do a pregnancy test before the ct scan? Other things like cysts, endometriosis, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis, hernias can all cause those symptoms but most are detectable on a ct or a pelvic ultrasound. A muscular strain or injury would not. Get it checked.
