Usually not.: Then vast majority of my patients who have switched from Effexor xr to venlafaxine er have done so without difficulty. That said, generics can vary in the inactive ingredients and some may perceive a difference.

: No medicine is safe to be taken without clear goals and understanding of what is being treated and a clear risk-benefit ratio discussion. Best to answer your question would be your current prescriber who diagnosed the condition you are being treated for in the context of your current symptoms.

started on 75mg & then 150mg of venlafaxine hcl er. got sick and it has been 2 weeks. can i take apart the capsule and go back to ramping up to 150?

Yes: In my practice, I have had several patients open their capsules and take half the dose to start back up.  They do this over the sink to catch spillage, and have had excellent results.  You can always check with your treating physician.

: Of course you can!  There is absolutely no problem from venlafaxine and any vaccination.  Some medications classified as immunosuppressants or immunomodulators may interfere with antibody response.  Yours is NOT one of them

: You are correct because there is a major interaction when taking both together even both are not at maximal doses yet. I wonder if your doctor wants to replace sertraline with venlafaxine because sertraline is no longer effective. Potential side: Effects with Effexor (venlafaxine) include high blood pressure, headache, blurred vision, constipation, diarrhea, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, decreased libido, dry mouth, ^ anxiety, increased sweating, dizziness, unusual dreams , tremor, insomnia, fatigue, depression, somnolence,  paresthesias,  abdominal pain, gas, flu-like symptoms, etc.

Virtually, no...: This Q was answered with some discussion. Using other drug to counter Venlafaxine-induced ED is probably not possible. In fact, more drugs to influence central nerve system could further compound the overall function. At this juncture, one has to redefine what you would like to accomplish for life or for sex.
