Probably not: In general, if you shouldn't be doing something when you don't have cancer, you shouldn't do something when you do have cancer.

I don't know of any benefical effects of alcohol. Many chemotherapy treatments put stress on the liver which will be compounded by alcohol. Also, colon cancer tends to metastasize to liver, so why risk further liver damage?

Yes...but not likely: You should really be examined. It's not normal to have rectal bleeding, especially at 33. Cancer is a remote possibility. More likely  would be benign anorectal disease, or inflammatory bowel disease. Being a teatotaler doesn't make much difference. Please seek a medical evaluation.  Good luck.

i started suffering from red blood on my stool coupled with pinkish urine. i drink alcohol but dont smoke and have a previous history of breast and colon cancer in both of my grandparents. i also have ehlers danlos syndrome but dont suffer with it.

Blood/fecal: Difficult without more history, but blood externally on stool is usually due to small tears in the lining of the colon/rectum and is common with constipation. Breast and colon cancers usually do not produce external blood on the stool, but it would be wise to get a colonoscopy or a FIT test to ease concern.  Pinkish urine can come with a urinary tract infection, but not from breast/colon disease.

It depends: Some studies suggest a link between an increased consumption of alcohol and colorectal cancer. A study analyzing the korean population showed a higher rate of colon cancer in people who consumed alcohol regularly.  In a north carolina study the opposite appeared to be true - alcohol consumption seemed to decrease the rate of colon cancer.  Basically, there there is no strong evidence either way.

following colon cancer surgery, is it safe to undergo chemo treatments when the liver isn't 100% healthy? liver damaged slightly due to past drinking, no alcohol consumed for over 25 years now. always healthy and strong.  exercise and healthy diet always.

Most : Most likely your liver has recovered over the past 25 years.  Your chemotherapy physician will do lab work to detect any issues that may put you at higher than normal risk. The relative risk vs benefit is what we all review prior to recommendation and implementation of treatments, weather chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Make sure you oncologist is aware  so you can get a more specific answer as well as to give insight of your concerns.

Yes: Both alcohol and tobacco are associated with a number of gastrointestinal cancers including colon cancer. However, almost all colon cancer starts in polyps, and colonscopy can detect and remove them.  See your doctor and discuss with him/her, and if you are drinking to excess, get help with stopping/reducing. If there is a family history of colon cancer, you are even more at risk.

Probably no: Probably no effect or very little compared to alcoholic beverages. If any concerns, check with your oncologist.

It has spread: Stage 4 colon cancer involves spread to distant organs; commonly it spreads to the liver, lungs, bones, abdomen cavity. Though these patients can have long-term survival for years in most cases it is incurable.
