i know a lot of people who take magnesium at night to help them sleep. why does it stimulate me instead of making me feel relaxed?

Please Clarify: Do you mean "melatonin" and not magnesium? I have never once in my life heard of magnesium being used for sleep.

hi. i take pexola 0, 25mg tablets at night for rls, i find if i don't take them at least 3hrs before, i don't sleep at all. i also take magnesium?

RLS: Rls can disrupt sleep and if a medicine at low dose works then doesnt matter what time you take it.

: Taking magnesium is unlikely to affect your sleep or health in general. If you are eating a mixed diet, you are not deficient in magnesium.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

why is it when i take magnesium with my calcium at night i don't get that relaxation effect they say everyone should? i practice good sleep hygine.

Sleep: i do not think the calcium is effecting the magnesium. You should not expose yourself to light from devices for a couple of hours before going to sleep ( ie. Computer screen, cell phone, IPAD screen, television). No stimulants after 12 non (ie caffeine). Avoid alcohol within two hours of bedtime. Eat dinner at a couple of hours before bedtime.

when should i take magnesium? i took it last night but my bp went down to 99/66. but it helped pains/swelling. i take carvedilol 3.125 2xaday and lisinopril 25mg for cardiomyopathy/chf.

If you have CHF.....: In chf, by definition, a normal blood pressure is hypertension.  As long as you are asymptomatic, your BP reading is not bad.  Magnesium has irrefutably been shown to reduce mortality in chf, especially by reducing fatal arrhythmias.

Yes: Taking them together actually helps them both work better so by all means. Zinc helps body absorb magnesium and magnesium helps body regulate zinc levels as long as excessive doses not taken.
