my right shin became numb after a pilates class. i also fell on my right hip during class, so don't know which is the cause. could it be from sit-ups?

May not be ready: Even seniors participate , pilates and various yoga  position exercises   but one has to be tuned before contemplating other wise may get hurt . It should be a joy to the body not jail sentence  . Go slow you will be fine .

what can i do to try to alleviate numbness in my toes/feet/shins? i've had it for 3 years. started as toes & has grriwn to include feet/shins.

Exam: You need to be seen by a Physician  to evaluate your symptoms.  You will need blood work,  x-rays, possible MRI of your lower back.  I would start to evaluate also your foot structure to see if your feet need a biomechanical evaluation and orthotics to balance out your gait.  But first make an appointment and start to get answers.

Very rare: This is very unusual, but if it is truly numb(no feeling) , that would imply damage to a nerve in the leg above the knee.

Shin splints running: shin splints are usually caused by running up or down hills. the muscles in the leg s are attached to the feet so as you run the foot slaps the ground and the muscles in the leg contract to slow the reactive forces .thus causing inflammation and pain

Understandable: The kick traumatized the skin and the delicate nerves inside the skin. It should all heal well but to be sure you can contact a sports medicine doctor in your area.

i hit my shin super hard on a rail on a shopping cart four months ago, it bruised to be dark purple and after a month and a half it slowly went away. i still have numbness in the side and its tender. theres a hard displaced lump on my upper shin?

Bone contusion : It is possible you sustained a contusion to the bone itself, which produces symptoms similar to what you are describing.  I would it hesitate to be seen and evaluated for it as there are other possibilities as well.

i fell off of a loft and slammed my shin into the corner of a coffee table on 9/6 it's bruised and soft with some numbness. am i okay?

Most likely: If you can walk on it, it probably is not broken. Bruising and swelling are usually worst on day 3-4 (which would be now for you). The numbness is probably due to pressure on the nerve from the swelling. The bruising and swelling should resolve in 7-10 days. Be sure to ice, elevate, and rest. If the symptoms worsen or don't improve, see your doctor. Hope this helps!

i have experienced chronic numbness in my right shin after doing exercises like squats. i believe that the nerve is damaged. is there a way to naturally treat a damaged nerve in the shin? is it dangerous if it goes untreated?

: Nerve damage occurs because a nerve is crushed, cut or pinched. The nerves that innervate your shin travel up your leg and into the spine. If you are experiencing numbness, it is more likely that it is not a localized nerve in your shin that is the problem, but a  nerve up closer to your spine. Talk to your regular Dr for a full neurological exam. Treatment may include antiinflamatories, stretches

PInched Nerve: The sciatic nerve is not the cause of the pain source, it is the result of an irritated nerve typically in the lumbar spine (low back) which are caused by herniated disks, spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease requiring further evaluation by a spine specialist.  Erectile dysfunction suggests a significantly pinched nerve(s)  i would investigate obtaining an MRI and see specialist soon.
