I hit my shin super hard on a rail on a shopping cart four months ago, it bruised to be dark purple and after a month and a half it slowly went away. i still have numbness in the side and its tender. theres a hard displaced lump on my upper shin?

Bone contusion : It is possible you sustained a contusion to the bone itself, which produces symptoms similar to what you are describing. I would it hesitate to be seen and evaluated for it as there are other possibilities as well.
