See a neurologist: Sensory nerve supply to that area of skin is damaged. It could be a problem near the numb skin area or as far back as lower back and any where in between.

Short Term Probs: I would not be concerned at all about a numbness in the leg for an hour.  The key to accurately determining if something is significant are symptoms which gradually in crease in frequency, duration, frequency.

Understandable: The kick traumatized the skin and the delicate nerves inside the skin. It should all heal well but to be sure you can contact a sports medicine doctor in your area.

May not be ready: Even seniors participate , pilates and various yoga  position exercises   but one has to be tuned before contemplating other wise may get hurt . It should be a joy to the body not jail sentence  . Go slow you will be fine .

Evaluation rec: What might cause these symptoms will be easier to define with more information, such as whether this is sudden, progressive or slowly progressive or intermittent.  There are a couple serious explanations including something called a compartment syndrome that justifies an examination with a doctor, sooner rather than later.  A comprehensive history and exam should sort this out.

Check it out.: Certainly, a nerve disruption is most probable. To remove all doubt, visit your family doctor and then, most likely, you will be referred to a specialist.

i hit my right knee on the corner of a door two days ago. it hurt for a bit and had a very slight bruise that was gone the next day. now my shin is numb from the knee to just above the ankle. could this be related? knee slightly tender, but thats it?

: This contusion apparently caused injury to the peroneal nerve or some branches resulting in numbness below the knee.  Fortunately you have no muscle weakness. These nerve injuries repair themselves but the healing may be quite slow. It's worthwhile having an orthopedic surgeon examine and advise you about any therapy and prognosis.

Not yet: Since there is a bruise there, a local reaction to the swelling and bruise you have can be numbness.  Once it starts to heal, it the numbness persists, than get an evaluation.

i have a knot on my middle of r inside shin area. it's numb from base of knee to top of ankle. any thoughts?

Musculoskeletal mass: Masses like this need to be evaluated with xrays and possibly MRI.  May have a mass putting pressure on the peroneal nerves that provide sensation on the front of your shin and top of your foot.  This would explain the numbness.  Your primary care physician can order basic xrays to study the mass.  May need to see peripheral nerve surgeon to have the nerve related complaint evaluated (www.aens.us)

i was kicked two and a half weeks ago. my shin has been numb since then. it's a little bruised now and has a small bump. there's no pain.what's wrong?

Hematoma?: You may have a hematoma, which is a bubble of blood.  See your doc for help.  Peace and good health.
