This contusion apparently caused injury to the peroneal nerve or some branches resulting in numbness below the knee. Fortunately you have no muscle weakness. These nerve injuries repair themselves but the healing may be quite slow. It's worthwhile having an orthopedic surgeon examine and advise you about any therapy and prognosis.
