I hit my right knee on the corner of a door two days ago. it hurt for a bit and had a very slight bruise that was gone the next day. now my shin is numb from the knee to just above the ankle. could this be related? knee slightly tender, but thats it?

This contusion apparently caused injury to the peroneal nerve or some branches resulting in numbness below the knee. Fortunately you have no muscle weakness. These nerve injuries repair themselves but the healing may be quite slow. It's worthwhile having an orthopedic surgeon examine and advise you about any therapy and prognosis.
