Short Term Probs: I would not be concerned at all about a numbness in the leg for an hour. The key to accurately determining if something is significant are symptoms which gradually in crease in frequency, duration, frequency.

Without trauma. . .: You did not mention trauma so i presume this sensation occurred spontaneously. My first consideration would be a nerve related alteration in skin sensation issues - paresthesia. This area is supplied by lumbar 4/5 nerves coming from the lower back. Are you experiencing weakness? In addition to problems along the nerve's course that result in skin sensation changes, metabolic issues are common.
