Finger pain: Finger pain can be a sign of joint pain(arthritis), tendinitis(tendon inflammation), but I am assuming you have not injured your finger(trauma).

Pain in the arm: It does sound like a nerve pain given the distribution. Wonder if it may be related to the surgery you had. You should see the surgeon who did the surgery. May need a nerve conduction study.

Many possibilties: Could be an issue with the bone joint or tendon in the hand, could be referred pain from pinched nerve - usually neck or upper arm, or could be something more concerning such as arthritis.  Needs an examination by doctor and may need tests run to sort it out.  See doctor and all the best.

Tendonitis: You may have irritated a nerve and or tendon in your hand. ???Recent activity involving grasping?? Is this in your dominant hands (right/left handed)

Nerve Injury: You may have pinched a a nerve in the hand or elbow called the ulnar nerve.  This nerve supplies half the middle finger, ring finger and little finger.  If it was sudden while you were doing something and went away no need for worry. If rapidly improving and NSAIDs can help. If it persists or is severe it could indicate damage to the nerve that should be evaluated. Very common, usually goes away.

Nerve pain: If this happens occasionally you are likely sleeping on your midarm and causing decreased blood flow.  This causes fingers to spasm, pins/needles from compression;  this quickly resolves, does not return during day.  Happens to people in a deep sleep.  If it happens everytime you sleep, then have a doc exam

Joint problem: Probably joint problem like arthritis.  Try resting it ( do you use it a lot?), heat, anti inflammatories.  If progresses or goes up your arm, talk to doctor.

Likely small FB: You could have a small cut or small residual foreign body. If it fails to improve or worsens, consider seeing a hand surgeon in the office for a physical exam.
