Nerve problem.: Burning, prickly sensations usually indicate some sort of nerve problem. A burning or numb sensation in the hands and arms is often from carpal tunnel syndrome. If your symptoms are more in the upper arm (biceps and triceps), there may be a pinch on the nerves in your neck, which is called radiculopathy. Discuss your symptoms with your doctor- you may need to see a neurologist and have a test emg.

i donated blood 1 wk ago. ive been experiencing intense pain up the inside of my bicep when i straighten or twist my arm. the phlebotomist said i had very thin veins so she kept readjusting the needle. why is this happening? should i see a doctor?

If there is any stretching or needle prick of the nerve it would take several weeks to heal. See a doctor is you experience numbness or weakness in that arm.

It does have some sensation, so might be the source of the sharp brief stitch-in-the-side feeling that is happening. A primary care doctor can carefully listen to the lungs, and also talk with the patient to see if there are other signs or symptoms of a problem. Sometimes a chest x-ray is done.

Lower back pain/spine related conditions such as a bulging disc can also that. Nerve entrapment in the ankle, called tarsal tunnel syndrome, can lead to those symptoms, but is not usually on both feet.
