i am 25 and female weight 268. went back to old habits blood pressure is now up to ~135/95...scares me. too scared to exercise. is it safe to do it?

Yes: Exercise definitely improves your health. Diet is more effective at weight loss. Make half your meal vegetables and fruits. Go for variety. i have been on 5mg of amlodipine for about 2 months and i just got prescribed propranolol but im scared to take the 2 together because i have read online that it says it could lower your blood pressure too much?

: Did you get prescribed the propranolol for hypertension or some other reason? If it was for hypertension, your blood pressure must still be elevated on the amlodipine. Do you have a blood pressure cuff at home? If you do, you can monitor your blood pressure-take a reading before you take the propranolol dose. You could ask your doctor at what level the med dose should be held. Good luck!

: Deficiency of iron can cause anemia and iron deficiency anemia is treated with iron. Iron will not increase one's blood pressure. Anemia is fairly common in pregnancy and there are blood tests to look into the cause.

Get rid of caffeine (e.g.Energy drinks, coffee, tea, even green tea) and all forms of sugar. Difficult? Sure, but your health is in your hands, not the doctor's.

Norvasc (amlodipine) at 18: You are rather young to have essential hypertension (h) at your age. I would ask your doctor to consider you a case of secondary hypertension (s), i.e. When your h is caused by secondary factors. Some examples are a renal artery stenosis or conn's syndrome, among others. If you do have s, treatment of its cause may get you off blood pressure meds. If you do not have s, Norvasc (amlodipine) is a safe drug.

There are some BP meds that may help you with erectile function, including arbs such as losartan and Alpha blockers such as doxazosin.

Yes: If you checked this pressure twice, once on each arm and this is the reading, then go to er asap. 110 diastolic at your age is hypertensive urgency/emergency. You could develop a stroke or heart attack.
