hi, can abscess drainage leave hard lump under the skin something like a scar tissue. abscess was pretty big and healed by granulation 10 yrs ago?

Yes: Abscesses that were drained a long time ago can leave scar (or fibrous) tissue in the place of the abscess or in the area where it was cut open.  This is a normal occurrence, as long as it does not appear infected (not red, swollen, hot or draining).

had bony lump on shin x-rayed. gp says it's scar tissue  under shin but i've been rubbing it until skin broke. lump feels bigger since i've rubbed it.

Stop: stop rubbing it. Have your doctor  biopsy  the so called scar tissue to make sure it is not something else

i have a small white bump of skin inside both lobe piercing holes and i can take 20 mins trying to put earrings in due this. they are sore to touch and weep sometimes, abx didnt resolve the bump. how do i get rid of what could be small scar tissue?

: I suggest you to wear earrings with non-allergenic metals such as platinum or pure gold/silver and leave them in places for weeks or months, clean the sites with hydrogen peroxide twice a day if there is redness or discharge. With the studs in place, the canals can be established and those bumps will be suppressed or eradicated. You should avoid the cheap earrings which often cause allergy.

was hospitalised & had a drip. i had some scar tissue after that & massaged that and it went away but 2 months later i still have a round lump where the drip was. it's mobile, not stuck to anything but it is hard & not going away. what could it be?

Lump: This hardened subcutaneous lump is probably a hematoma caused by leakage of blood at the iv site. The blood clot has now fibrosed and won't dissolve. If it's not tender or inflamed you can leave it alone. A surgeon could remove it with a small incision if you prefer.

Scar tissue growth ?: Some scar tissue can grow much longer than a few weeks, and this is called a "keloid", which is common in darkly pigmented individuals, less so in light skinned.  These can be surgically removed, but even with steroid therapy can reoccur.

Lumps: Lumps on old scars are unusual but new scars can be lumpy due to keloid formation which is an abnormal thickening of scar tissue that some people tend to produce. Multiple lumps apart from scar tissue are often lipomas which are benign fatty tissue deposits. Your physician can evaluate and advise you.

It can: When scar tissue forms you often get a lump which gradually gets smaller and softer over time. Some people get keloids where the scar tissue  can get very large.

Have this checked: It is my advice that you have this lump checked out. It may very well be benign. However cancer can develop on scar tissue and this can generally be cured if treated properly. I suggest having a biopsy taken of the tissue for a pathological exam. Please make an appointment at a clinic to begin to follow this up.

Normal: Scar tissue can absolutely be uncomfortable.  It may help to massage your scar with lotion daily.  Are you concerned there is another abscess forming?  If the area is red, increasingly large, hot or tender it is best to see a doctor for a proper evaluation.
