A member asked:

Was hospitalised & had a drip. i had some scar tissue after that & massaged that and it went away but 2 months later i still have a round lump where the drip was. it's mobile, not stuck to anything but it is hard & not going away. what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lump: This hardened subcutaneous lump is probably a hematoma caused by leakage of blood at the iv site. The blood clot has now fibrosed and won't dissolve. If it's not tender or inflamed you can leave it alone. A surgeon could remove it with a small incision if you prefer.
