No: Liver sits on the right side in the upper portion of the abdomen. It would not cause symptoms on your left side. Sarcoid is a difficult disease to deal with. Can have many symptoms. Fracture rib?: You may be describing a broken rib. Need to see your doc for an x ray. It is good to diagnose fracture so your doc can give you strong pain/cough suppressant and see if sarcoidosis is worse. If so, he can address it with medicines. Need to hug a pillow while coughing. Hope you feel better. Duration could drag for several days or more depending on x-ray findings, cause, healing ability.

i have sarcoidosis & i'm hurting real bad. it's my arm pit it's grown and increased in pain. i couldn't even sleep last night. what should i do?

See Doctor: Try otc med in the meantime if you don't have any pain med and you are not able to see your doctor.  If this is a flare up- you may need a steroid treatment to help your pain.  If you can't see your pcp then go to an acute care center for eval-.

Sarcoidosis: Sarcoidosis can be difficult to diagnose because the disease produces few signs and symptoms in its early stages. Diagnostic tests include: c-rays, ct scan, mri, pet, blood tests, eye exams, biopsies, and lung function tests.

You can but: You will need a chest ct and a biopsy to confirm , 
shortness of breath has a very wide differential diagnosis , you should check with your physician 
the diagnosis of sarcoidosis requires three elements:
1.Compatible clinical and radiographic manifestations.2.Exclusion of other pulmonary/cardiac diseases that may present similarly3.Histopathologic detection of noncaseating granulomas(biopsy).
