is it safe for people with scoliosis to ride roller coasters?

Yes: Most patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis should be able to ride roller coasters without a problem. Ensure that the seat belt and safety mechanisms fit comfortably. Patients with severe adult scoliosis may have "soft" bones due to osteoporosis. These patients are at higher risk of getting a compression fracture of the spine and thus should avoid roller coasters.

i am on blood pressure medication. it keeps my blood pressure in the 130s/80s. very rarely in 140s/80s. my question is, am i safe to ride a few roller coasters? none that go upside down?

: Even if your blood pressure goes up during the ride, the ride is very short so the rise in your blood pressure would be very brief. But, the doctor who prescribes your blood pressure medicine should also weigh in since that doctor knows all the details, like do you have a clinical condition causing your high blood pressure that might mean you should not go on a rollercoaster? It : It depends on the arrhythmia, what other medical conditions you have, and how your arrhythmia is being treated. Some arrhythmias, such as ventricular tachycardia, can be life-threatening and can be induced by the excitement or fear a roller coaster would cause. Not all arrhythmias are dangerous, however, and some would allow for roller coaster riding. You should consult your physician before deciding whether to ride a roller coaster.

Roller coaster: This question is best answered for you by the physician(s) who know your situation best. One can't make a blanket statement for all bypass surgery patients. If such an statement is to be made, it would have to be the conservative one that you shouldn't ride the roller coaster.

i have wpw syndrome. i haven't had treatment, nor have i ever had any symptoms or episodes. im on my 30s, exercise regularly, and overall quite healthy. is it safe for me to ride roller coasters? (i have done so in the past but not since diagnosis?

: I have had people with WPW syndrome who wanted clearance. to participate in sports and had them wear an outpatient Holter Monitor for 48 hours of normal activities and then perform a maximal treadmill stress test. If no arrhythmias were triggered they were ok'd for sports. I would think the same would pertain to roller coast riding. Your cardiologist is best to advise you, however.

: If you're safely strapped in and use common sense, you're at no more risk than anyone else.despite your old brain injury.

Depends on the sever: For mild to moderate stenosis, probably little to no risk. For severe disease, would check with your heart doctor.

Arrhythmia: It depends is the best answer i can give now. Because some arrhythmias are relatively stable on medicines and those would be safe, however, others are less stable and would be dangerous to ride on these rides.  Best to discuss this with your cardiologist and determine which is best for you.
