Just a thought: but the "pattern" of your pain may just reflect bowel GAS moving from your upper gi (stomach) to the lower (sigmoid colon) If I am right you will begin to pass gas through your rectum ......
You may be EATING TOO FAST (swallowing air!!!)
Eat slower..chew your food ...

Few possibilities...: Rib pain is frequently caused by inflammation of the intercostal ligaments and muscles called costochondritis.  Other possibilities however include pneumonia or pleurisy.  Try taking motrin.  If it does not respond then see your doctor. Good luck!

is it normal to have bh contractions on one side? i have been having intermittent sharp pain on my left side and my stomach tightens like a contraction. i am dilated 1.5 cm and im 31+5?

: Growth and increased strength of the fetus at "31w5d" can cause asymmetric pain depending on the position of the fetal extremities. Report the pain to your OB , and see him/her for an exam , as pre-term labor with early dilation may require treatment.

hi. pain in stomach and side with intermittent shortness of breath. on pantoprazole since this past friday. pain level vacillates.

You need an exam: It sounds as if you were being treated for a stomach ailment, but that shouldn't make you short of breath.  You don't say if you are on any BCP's, but a blood clot or pneumonia or gall bladder disease could present this way.  It wouldn't hurt to take an antacid with simethicone when the pain comes, but if this keeps up you do need to be seen again.  Good luck!

Stomach pain: Intense upper abdominal pain has various causes such as acute gastritis(inflammation of the stomach lining), pylorospasm, pancreatitis,gall stone or gall bladder inflammation, peptic ulcer or gastric ulcer. Look for triggers like fatty or spicy foods, alcohol, excessive caffeine.Medications. Get examined during an episode so that appropriate testing can be done.

It depends: There are many possible causes.  An irritation of a nerve in the thoracic pain can cause pain to radiate around one side of the trunk.  A gallbladder problem can cause pain radiating into the right side as can a lung and kidney problem.  A detailed exam and appropriate studies can usually tell the cause.  Consider being checked. More info needed: Need more information to answer your question.  When did the pain start, any associated symptoms like worse with food, any pain with movement, any history of ulcers, taking anything like Aspirin or ibuprofen, any history of utis or kidney stones, any prior surgeries, any nausea, vomiting, fever?

May be UR ibuprofen: Ibuprofen is very irritating to the gastric lining of the stomach, especially when it's not taken with food. Please make sure that you are taking it with food, and not by itself. It is such a strong irritant. You may want to try stopping your ibuprofen altogether, and seeing whether the pain goes away immediately during the time that you're off it or not..
