A member asked:

What would cause an intermittent sharp pain in the ribs on the right side, not in the stomach, that last about 10-15 seconds, hurts more to breathe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Few possibilities...: Rib pain is frequently caused by inflammation of the intercostal ligaments and muscles called costochondritis. Other possibilities however include pneumonia or pleurisy. Try taking motrin. If it does not respond then see your doctor. Good luck!
