May be difficult.: First any one who is diagnosed with rsd or regional pain syndrome should be treated with compassion. It is a very debilitating disease. If it is early on the rsd can be treated with systemic pain medication and topical pain medication, along with physical therapy. Later stages may need injections in the spine and possible surgery. Find a physician in your area who has experience treating rsd.

It can heal: Several treatment options are available. Consider a visit to a podiatrist, a rehab dr, a pain dr, and or rehab if you haven't already.

i had surgery on my ankle and now have rsd/crps. the pain is sovery intense and has spread to my hamstring. mytoes and foot have spasm. what should i do?

See a Pain Expert: First thing is to verify that you have the right diagnosis.  This needs to be treated aggressively with physical therapy and desensitization.  There are good meds for pain control without opioids being the main treatment.  A lumbar sympathetic block or bone scan can help with the diagnosis.  If conservative measures are not enough then a spinal cord stimulator is an excellent option.

RSD: The symptoms of rsd (reflex sympathetic dystrophy) can cause color changes in the skin, temperature changes in the foot, pain and numbness with anything touching or rubbing against the foot. See a neurosurgeon or a specialist in rsd to evaluate and treat this problem.

Doubt it: The antiquated term RSD is good to think of after major trauma (eg. fractures to long bones). Highly unusual for RSD to affect hips and back, especially as an upshot of "arthritis." I'd consider another opinion to begin with before thinking anything were coming "out of remission." Your symptoms as described more likely related to arthritis which itself progresses &amp; can be resistant to treatment.

Decreased oxygen: With the rsd, lupus and chronic edema this would naturally lead to some kind of compromise of blood flow to the feet.  When the blood flow is diminished, this will decrease the amount of oxygen to the feet and hands while building up Lactic Acid that leads to your charlie horses/cramps.  See your doctor for treatment options.
