See a shoulder doc: Slap tears cause vague pain, sliding with overhead use, painful clicking or popping sensations with shoulder motion, especially overhead activity. Rtc tears cause night pain, pain with overhead activity, and functional loss with daily activity. Rtc pain is typically in the anterolateral aspect of the shoulder.  If you are having these symptoms see a shoulder specialist.

i had surgery 3 weeks ago to repair labral tear , bicep tendon tear and rotator cuff tear. i took out my dog on the leash with the non surgical arm, but he yanked me really hard on the surgical arm and i am in tons of pain. possible to undo surgery?

: Well, maybe not undue but can certainly lead to needing it again...partially.  Depending on how much you need your shoulder I would consider getting a dog walker till you are healed completely.

Physical therapy: The physician  that made  this diagnosis can send you to a physical therapist  that  can direct you in a home  program that you can do yourself. It is best to initially get individualized  guidance  so you can do it on your own. It is important that  you stick to a regular exercise  program

See details: Numbness is not usually the result of a tear of the labrum or the rotator cuff. You need to provide more information. Was significant trauma involved? Was a Lyme titer done? Was an EMG done?

my recent mri shows degenerative arthropathy of a/c joint, rotator cuff tendinopathy w/calcification, labrum tear, moderate deltoid bursitis, biceps tenosynovitis, and bone cysts. pain worse over 9 months when i lifted object. 40f, p.t. or surgery?

: In your case, it might be more successful to start with physical therapy, and gradual progress to independent exercise.  Surgery is an option subsequently, but might be rather complex and arduous.  Would obtain at least two orthopedic consults.

Pain: Typical signs of a rotator cuff tear depends on the muscle involved.  There are 4 that make up the rotator cuff.  Most commonly, people complain of pain with reaching or overhead motion, pain radiating down the arm, pain that wakes them up at night, sometimes numbness and tingling in the arm and hand/fingers, a feeling of heaviness to the arm.  Recommend you see a sports medicine MD/orthopedist.

This arthroscopic outpatient procedure usually allows for a return to daily living activities within 2-6 wks. A full recovery can be long &amp; arduous, but excellent results are achieved &gt;80%...

Shoulder pain: Rotator cuff tears are most often painful at the lateral shoulder area, but occasionally we find a complete tear which, while painless, prevents normal lifting and rotation of the arm.
If i were betting, i would go for pain.

They may but : Steroids could also potentially cause more harm than good down the road....Ask your orthopedist what he/she thinks and for possible alternative injectables.

Lifting: Isn't necessarily the problem, but rather how you lift.  Are you still continuing to do range of motion and strengthening rotator cuff, scapular and shoulder exercises.  Also, with your injury history, you made need to be careful, modify and/or avoid many overhead lifts(like military presses, etc) that place undue stress on your rotator cuff.  Consider working with a PT for better guidance.
